Beginner Wheel Throwing

Interested in taking beginner pottery classes? The Deloraine Pottery Hub and Centre has over 4 wheels and an experienced tutor ready to help you learn the techniques you need to make your own unique pieces.

It may be an ancient art, but pottery remains as popular as ever – especially as we make the all-important shift towards more eco-friendly materials and pastimes. Plus, it’s the perfect indoor activity for children, teens and adults. In this class, you will create your very own bowls.
We also give our students the option to come back once it has been dried and fired, to paint their pieces with our wide selection of glazes (Additional costs apply).
What you’ll get
All materials including clay and bisque and glaze firing are included in cost (excluding postage).
What to Wear/ bring
Wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting messy, and covered footwear (not thongs or sandals). If you cut your fingernails short, it will be helpful for you. If you can, remove jewellery from fingers and wrists as the clay can cause damage.
When
This class occurs every Tuesday from 1pm-3pm
Cost
$45 for a 2-hour wheel throwing session.
$30 for a 1-hour glazing session.
